Community Project Coordinator
Abe Lenoch earned a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology and Environmental Studies from UW-Madison in 2015. Before coming to 1000 Friends, Abe worked as a research technician in the Forestry Division of the Wisconsin DNR and was an environmental education intern with the Madison Audubon Society. At 1000 Friends, Abe coordinates the Leopold Green Schoolyard Project, tracks and reports on legislation, and works regularly with the Wisconsin DNR Urban Forestry program and Wisconsin communities to find grant opportunities to plant more street trees statewide.
Abe started as a volunteer for 1000 Friends in the spring of 2017 and was hired as our Community Project Coordinator in 2018. He considers himself an amateur birder and thinks clouds are fascinating while also enjoying playing sports and spending time with family and friends in his free time.
