Madison Plan Commission endorses Edgewater project

Clearing a huge hurdle, the Madison Plan Commission early Tuesday endorsed a series of land use approvals for the $93 million-plus redevelopment of the historic Edgewater hotel.
At 2 a.m., after more than six hours of polarized public testimony, questions of speakers and staff, and debate, the commission approved a zoning change, conditional use for waterfront development, and vacating part of a right of way on Wisconsin Avenue.
