The idea flopped two years ago when Milwaukee County Supervisor Mark Borkowski floated it, but that didn’t stop him Monday from renewing his suggestion that local bus fare be cut to $1 as a way to boost ridership.
Persistent predictions that the transit system is on the verge of going broke prompted him to dust off his cheap fare idea.
